The Reserve Bank of India is the Central Bank for India and is responsible for regulating all the other Public Sector and Private sector Banks in the country. A job in RBI is considered to be extremely prestigious and aspirants looking for a career in the banking sector incline towards qualifying the RBI exams.

There are mainly two posts for which RBI conducts the examination. This includes:

  1. RBI Grade B Officer
  2. RBI Assistant

Of the above-mentioned posts, the RBI Grade B exam is conducted to appoint Officers. Whereas, the Assistant exam is for the Clerical cadre. But the interest of candidates to appear for the Officer exam is much higher which has resulted in the increased competition over the years.

  • Phase I – Online Computer Based Test
  • Phase II – Online Computer Based Test

The exam pattern for Phase II has been given below:

RBI Grade B Officer Exam Pattern for Phase – II
Name of the Paper Type of the Paper Duration Marks
Paper I Economic & Social Issues Objective Type 90 minutes 100
Paper-II English (Writing Skills) Descriptive (to be typed with the help of keyboard) 90 minutes 100
Paper III Finance & Management Objective Type 90 minutes 100

And any candidate who manages to qualify these two Phases is invited to appear for the Interview. The final result is based on the marks scored by the candidates in the Mains and Interview level.

  • Focus on Concepts – Rather than just going through the type of questions that may be asked, candidates must give emphasis on understanding the concept. This will help them answering the questions even if they are asked in a little complex manner.
  • Analyse the Syllabus – Unlike the other Bank exams the syllabus for the Officer cadre exam is slightly tougher. Questions from Economics, Finance, Management and Social Issues are aked in the exam. So analysing the syllabus well is a important to start the preparation.
  • Solve Mock Test, Practise Papes & Model Papers – This is one of the most recommended tips to crack any banking sector exam. The benefits of solving these papers is that a candidate gets a better understanding of the level of exam, important topics and the type of questions that may be asked.
